We build online communities on social media as part of the Virtual Worlds and Social Media course at DIS – Study Abroad in Scandinavia. The common purpose of these projects is to design an online campaign with a specific communication strategy for building a participatory social media community.
The campaigns are designed for specific target audiences. We use various empirical sources for audience analysis to strategize effective ways to communicate with this community (i.e. surveys, interviews, social media analytics) and to encourage them to participate as active members.
